The Eiffel Tower Grows in Summer It's really cool to know that the Eiffel Tower gets a bit taller during the summer! When it's hot, the metal in the tower expands. This happens because heat makes the metal atoms move around more and take up more space. So, the Eiffel Tower can actually grow by about six inches  when it gets really warm. This change is called thermal expansion. It shows how even big, solid things like the Eiffel Tower can change with the weather. It's like the tower is stretching up to enjoy the sun! Learning this makes me realize how amazing and dynamic our world is. Even things that seem unchangeable can be affected by nature in surprising ways.
